Sales Manager - Calgary, Alberta

Aspen Aerogels, Inc. seeks an exceptional individual who is excited about working in a fast-paced company and wants to make significant contribution selling into insulation markets within the Calgary area. The Sales Manager will have strong interpersonal skills, a solid technical background, and a current working knowledge of the insulation requirements in various industries. Target industries are power generation, appliances, refrigerated transportation and shipping, and marine.
We are looking for an extremely talented and ambitious person to help Aspen reach its corporate growth targets. We seek a truly seasoned and hardworking sales professional who will thrive in a small business environment and make a significant contribution. This person should have the education and training required to fully understand and promote various Aerogel based technologies that we pursue.
Duties:• Identify, qualify and secure sales opportunities
• Help to create market exposure and ensure appropriate influence on the end users’ decision making process.
• Develop, nurture and maintain close working relationships with the decision-makers including the end users, engineering firms and contractors.
• Work efficiently with the sales team and other internal partners to create excellence in the client experience to build close and profitable relationships
• Influence and assist in preparing technical specifications for the engineering consultants.
• Planning, coordinating and executing sales efforts with primary objectives of identification of new projects
• Competitive assessment, business planning, forecasting
• Customer satisfaction
Qualifications:• A minimum of 5 years technical sales experience; Engineering background a plus.
• Experience installing insulation would be beneficial.
• Thorough knowledge of the oil/gas market
• Ability to effectively present ideas, influence buying decisions and respond quickly/precisely to customer challenges
• Superior and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• PC skills including Internet based systems, MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Superior organizational skills – a self-starter with a drive to “win” and the motivation to be professionally successful within a team environment.

Requirements:
• Must possess valid identification to allow for travel to the US as required.
• Must have a home office set-up to include wireless High Speed Internet connection.
